Cloudflare Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) empowers organizations to enforce their AUP by offering secure, controlled access to applications and resources. Here’s how!
An Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is more than just a set of rules for using a company’s computer resources, such as the Internet or email. It’s like the terms and conditions you agree to when using a new app or service (End-user License Agreement) but with a real impact on your and others’ experience.
Cloudflare Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) helps organizations enforce their Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) by providing secure, controlled access to applications and resources. Here’s how it works:
Scenario:
A company provides remote access to its employees for various internal applications, such as email, file storage, and customer databases. The company must ensure that all users adhere to their AUP, which includes rules against accessing unauthorized resources, sharing sensitive data, and visiting malicious websites.
Solution with Cloudflare ZTNA:
- Access Control: Employees are given access to only the applications they need based on their role.
- Authentication: Employees must Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to verify their identities before accessing resources. Additionally, devices must have a security score above 90%, ensuring both user and device identity verification.
- Monitoring: If an employee attempts to access an unauthorized resource or shares sensitive data improperly, the system flags the behavior for review.
- Threat Protection: Cloudflare ZTNA blocks access to known malicious websites, protecting employees from phishing attacks and malware.
